I am a graduate student in geoscience at the University of Massachussets-Amherst. I am also an experienced R programmer, and have worked on several text-mining and online database initiatives at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In particular, I am a former member of the Macrostrat and GeoDeepDive development teams. Macrostrat is a fully integrated database of stratigraphic columns and geologic maps that enables seamless transition between different spatiotemporal scales of analysis and intelligent cross-referencing with supporting databases. GeoDeepDive is a digital ibrary of machine-readable scientific documents that enables intelligent text-mining and machine learning.
